Then just a week ago, Ross Lippencott gave me a huge hug after being pronounced man and wife with my daughter, Manami, and said, "Hey Mama!" He had the biggest and brightest smile on his face. Manami texted our family before she flew out to Hawaii to tell us that she was so happy. Right now, the two of them are in Hawaii on their honeymoon. I am sure that they are having the time of their life together.
I feel so blessed to have two son-in-laws who love my daughters as much as I do and want to take care of them for the rest of their lives. I respect both my new sons who walk with God and live lives that are full of integrity. At the same time, I would be lying to say that there isn't some sadness in me as well. My relationship with my girls will be different. Already, Mimi and I were crying together about how they won't be with us for Thanksgiving. We have never missed a Thanksgiving together, even while they were in college!
I, however, have decided that I need to grow up just like my girls have. They are on their journey of life, and it is going in a wonderful direction!
